I'm very happy with the shot of a Maiko (or Geisha in training) that I recently took in Kyoto. 28mm (the focal length of the Leica Q, which I used for this shot) might not be ideal for portrait photography, but I've come to really like the look I get, barrel distortion and all. It's not necessarily flattering, but it looks interesting to me. I had one chance at this shot and had to act quick, and also had to come in way closer for the shot than she had anticipated (I think I freaked her out a little)... so in the end I'm really pleased with the results.
