The Bay Bridge

The Bay Bridge, Étude No. 4, San Francisco, USA. 2022.

The Bay Bridge photographed from Alcatraz Island. I tried this same shot a few weeks ago from Angel Island, but it didn’t fully work for me. The light wasn’t quite right, nor was the angle. Luckily, this time, I was able to get the shot just as I had imagined it. At this time of year, in the mornings when the light is just right the Bay Bridge looks like it is floating in the air - the sky and water blend together. A really lovely and ethereal scene. This is a six-and-a-half-minute exposure.
